Silky O'Sullivan's was founded more than 30 years ago in Memphis, Tennessee, and this is a relatively new outpost in New Orleans.

This is a pub/restaurant that features live music, and a pretty extensive, reasonably priced menu with several veggie options. The dining tables are decked with traditional checked tablecloths, with condiments, including Louisiana speciality, Tabasco.

There is a big screen for sporting action, and when there isn't live music, jazz and blues is played on the sound system.

The ceiling is decorated with Irish flags (in case you hadn't guessed, this is an Irish pub) but also several US university and college flags also adorn the bar area, the remander of the space decorated with brewing company tat - figurines, neon, and beach balls.

As the sign at the front reads, "Silky O'Sullivan's Diner - Guaranteed to make you go down".
