Pub Quiz! Which pub is this?

"if the weather is favourable, there’s the option of sitting on one of the picnic benches outside that offer not only a view of the sea but also a view of a rather insignificant looking alleyway nearly opposite the pub; insignificant that is, except to knowledgeable fans of the classic film Quadrophenia who will be able to tell you that the album cover for the movie soundtrack was taken in this alleyway and it was here that Phil Daniels got to shag Leslie Ash (when she was in her prime) the lucky boy"

As a stylish bar on Kings Road, playing loud music on a Saturday night, you can imagine the people this place attracts, and on the night we paid a visit there certainly was a totty-tastic array of bright young things here. Very much in the style of Edwards and All Bar One, but on an even more upmarket scale (this is Chelsea y'know) and so to keep things more dignified a strict policy of over-21s only is enforced by the bouncer at the door, even going to the extent of demanding ID from and turning away the sort of people who all too easily manage to blag their way in elsewhere.

One unique selling point for this pub is that it sells Olives - of the many pubs we have visited researching this guide, this is genuinely a first, and had us rather excited until we realised that it didn't seem the ideal beer accompaniment, and went for the traditional bag of crisps instead.

The pub has a big screen which was showing Casualty on our visit. Of course, the volume was turned down, so you are treated to blood, guts and Kylie with your beer. Nice. The tv was switched over to the football later which was equally unappealing.

A nice feature which is still the exception rather than the norm is the availability of sofas near the big screen making it feel like you are sitting in your front room with a 60 inch TV and infinite supply of beer. Even the toilets are attractively decorated with warm pastel coloured tiling and wooden features (including the toilet seats!)

The sign above the bar reads "4 pint pitcher of Carling - £" - which seems quite a bargain especially for Chelsea (Does that mean one pound, zero pounds, or "if you have to ask the price, you can't afford it"?)

This seems to be one of the few pubs in Chelsea with a quiz machine (with Around The World in 80 days, Trivial Pursuit, Spot The Difference, Castles and others), and also was the only pub we visited in one night that played chart music from the last ten years.

This is a nice pub, but the staff are always amazingly rude. It is one of those places where you have to expect to wait for 10-15 mins at the bar even when it is not particularly busy - because the staff couldn't care less if you get served or not.

we go in regularly but last night was the most offensive to date and has made me bother to write this. One particularly irritating barman actually told us to go home then when we commented on a 15 minute wait for a bottle of white wine. When we asked to see the manager (sudden flash of pub rage)the bloke in charge slouched over and clearly didn't care either, just shrugged at us. So, we all felt cross, collected our stuff and stomped off to a lovely little quiet, cheaper and nicer pub round the corner called the Coopers, which is where I'll go first next time

`Awful service, rude staff and food that would make most prisoners of war violently ill,. the m,anager has not clue as to customer service and would be disgusted to know that they have possibly the worst run pub in chelsea under their control. bad music, worse food and the only redeeming feature being and irish and italian barmaid who try their hardest, but you can'tpolish a turd and their talent is better used elsewhere

These comments are totally out of sync with what The Trafalgar actually is today. Gaming machines? If that's what you require I'm sure you'll find a Wetherspoons or another generic watring hole...with Carling and Stella too.

Good premium beers and comforting food, nice staff and a cosy environment.
