Pubs in Buenos Aires

Seemingly more British in nature and taste than Spanish, there are numerous British-style drinking establishments – an evening stroll through downtown Buenos Aires is like Soho, with a pub on every corner - although any prior research is fruitless as bars and pubs come-and-go with alarming frequency. Likewise, most beers ‘on-tap’ seem to be off, leaving only the local brews. Every second pub is an Irish pub, although a Buenos Aires pub considers itself Irish just because it sells Guinness and is therefore less ‘themed’ than its British equivalent.

Buenos Aires is a city of dog-walkers - they’re everywhere, with upwards of 5 or 10 dogs strapped together – so beware of what you’re stepping in after a few drinks, as the streets are full of dog-shit, most of it smeared across the pavement by some unsuspecting pedestrian’s foot!
